Tania Debnath

I am an Assistant Professor of Geography in the Department of Geography, Prayagraj, University of Allahabad, India. I am a Geographer by training and did PhD in Economic Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. I have worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow in National Institute of Urban Affairs, a think-tank of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and worked in various international projects. My research focuses on the sustainable cities, urbanisation in the global South, geography of work, and place making in urban context. Currently I am working on secondary/intermediary cities of India, their lived realities and encounter with modernity through state-led development. My research works are based both on rigorous quantitative methods as well as qualitative methods.
