I am a research affiliate at Rujak Center for Urban Studies, Jakarta, Indonesia. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from Tarumanagara University, Indonesia and Master’s degree in Society, Sustainability and Planning from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. My research praxis has been oriented toward urban kampungs of Jakarta, scrutinising their informal characteristics and resilience through qualitative methods and GIS. I am now broadening my research interest in political economy and environmental justice.
My current research explores the class struggles in understanding the urban flooding of Jakarta. I’m interested in how urban flooding is framed between scapegoating the urban kampung residents and private-led development in the hands of the privileged.
