I’m a PhD student at The University of Westminster in the United Kingdom. The overarching aim of this research is to examine the factors that influence migration, with a focus on migration from climate affected areas to urban area. These climate induced migrants enter formal and informal employment to contribute to the urban labour market, in the context of climate change using a case study from Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Moreover, this study attempts a understand climate, hazards, migration and employment by not only looking at the influence of climate and environment hazards on migration but also people’s hazard experiences, risk perceptions, and cognitive aspects of migration decision making, as well as policy implications of such migration.
