Ayodeji Adeniyi

I completed my PhD in human geography, urban planning, and sociology at the University of Queensland, Australia. I have published in the fields of housing affordability and master-planned housing. As an urban designer, I previously studied the concept of informal urbanism layered on formal structures. Rem Koolhaas initially observed this relationship. I’m presently developing a framework for framing housing needs and a packet of tools to visualize and interpret housing interventions. This research is motivated by the observation that regularity within the built environments should be anchored by ends (function) rather than means (capital).
