Soumya Dasgupta

I’m a PhD student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. From the disciplinary scope of architectural history and theory, my scholarly interests include postcolonial urban geographies, urban informality, nationalism, digital technology and neoliberal urbanisms. The ongoing pandemic crisis has prompted me to reconfigure my original Ph.D. plan. At present, I am exploring possible topics at the intersection of architectural history and postcolonial studies to understand the transformations of spatial productions in the context of urban India. My research thinking is influenced by critical theorists such as Lefebvre, Certeau, Bhabha, and Stiegler.
