I am an anthropologist working on issues relating to health inequalities in the Global South. I am an Assistant Professor at Universiti Brunei Darussalam. I completed my PhD in Anthropology from the University of the Philippines Diliman where I explored food insecurity among older adults in an informal settlement in Manila. I am also affiliated with Brown University Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies as a Global Fellow. My most current publications include the edited volumes Disaster Archipelago: Locating Vulnerability and Resilience in the Philippines (2020) and Aging in the Global South: Challenges and Opportunities (2019). I have also published journal articles that explored issues on food security, pediatric tuberculosis, mental health, and older adult health among informal settlers in Metro Manila.
